Potter Will Help Lead Team with Ambitious Plans to Turn Out Voters in Key Battleground States

Washington, D.C.  – Veteran Democratic operative Stephanie Potter has been recruited by For Our Future and For Our Future Action Fund in a key senior role, CEO Justin Myers announced today. Potter is the latest in a series of high-ranking hires by Myers, including Campaigns Director Ashley Walker, to build out the most ambitious grassroots organizing and mobilization program for 2020 in For Our Future’s history.

As Managing Director, Potter will oversee operations, budget, and fundraising for the organizations, which employed more than 4,000 staff in seven states and the District of Columbia with a budget of $48 million in 2018.  Potter is a senior operative and organizer who most recently served as the Executive Director of the Maryland Democratic Party. She was previously the Executive Director of Senate Majority PAC, where she worked during the 2012, 2014, and 2016 election cycles.

“We are lucky to have someone with Stephanie’s knowledge, experience, and track record,” said Myers. He continued, “Stephanie will help manage and guide our headquarters team as we apply the lessons of our successful efforts in 2018 to achieving progressive victories up and down the ballot in 2020.  With Stephanie on our team, we are poised to continue building the largest, permanent progressive field program in the country.”

BACKGROUND: Founded in 2016, For Our Future Action Fund and For Our Future run the largest, permanent progressive field program across seven states:  FL, MI, NV, OH, PA, VA, and WI. Along with community partners, the groups organize all-year-long around issues, legislative advocacy, and campaigns to win elections and help build the lasting power needed to improve people’s lives. Last year, For Our Future and its partners knocked on more than 10 million doors nationwide and held 1.6 million face-to-face conversations. The groups plan to raise and spend $80 million for its grassroots campaigns and get-out-the-vote efforts to defeat President Trump, advance progressive legislation in the states, and pick up seats in key contests at the state and federal level.
