State Director, For Our Future Ohio
Toni Webb is the State Director of For Our Future Ohio, which is dedicated to building progressive infrastructure and power through voter engagement and community organizing in the state of Ohio. Since launching in 2016, For Our Future has held conversations with nearly 700,000 Ohioans about why engaging in elections can have an impact on issues that matter to them, partnered with dozens of like-minded, community-based organizations on direct voter contact and issue advocacy programs, and has established itself as a leader in innovative digital organizing tactics that complement the face-to-face conversations they have at the doors. Under Toni’s leadership, the group has organized voters from Youngstown to Cincinnati, contributing to U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown’s re-election, and the highest levels of African-American voter turnout in the Midwest in 2018.
Toni has been involved in campaigns, elections, and voter engagement since the 2008 presidential campaign. In 2010 she joined the AFSCME International, where she now serves as the union’s political director for Ohio. She has worked on political and issue campaigns for AFSCME, including Ohio’s successful ‘No on State Issue 2’ campaign in 2011 to repeal Senate Bill 5, which would have taken away collective bargaining for the state’s public employees, Indiana’s Right-to-Work fight, Wisconsin’s Recall Walker campaign, and dozens of other labor and independent expenditure campaigns.
Toni represents Ohio on the Ballot Initiative Strategy Center’s Victory 2020 committee and sits on the board and chairs the executive workgroup of LEAD Ohio. The central Illinois native is a graduate of Millikin University and Saint Louis University School of Law.
